For the last two years, Baystream has participated in the IRCM Research Day, by supporting students with bursaries. The awards are presented as part of a series of events which link this world-renowned centre of excellence in clinical research and the local scientific community.
Every year in May, IRCM trainees are invited to present their research results in poster or oral format, and in this 2015 edition, the Baystream Prize was awarded to Ms. Joanne Leung, a doctorate student working in the Immune Regulation Research Unit, under the direction of Dr. Woong-Kyung Suh.
Ms. Leung, is pursuing her Ph. D. in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at McGill University. The title of her award-winning oral presentation was: “Absence of host B7-H4 promotes protective anti-tumor T-cell immunity against immunogenic tumor transplants”. Dr. Francis Bellido, Baystream’s Life Sciences Director, presented Ms. Leung with the prize.
